Document Number

Use this field to enter a document number or organization for your search. You can use any combination of search filters with this field.

• Document numbers can contain alpha characters, which can be entered as upper or lower case, and/or numeric characters.
  Example:
  By entering a400, results retrieve standards such as A-A-400 CANC, AFNOR NF A22-400, ASTM A 400, etc.

• Search results retrieve the number entered, plus any revisions, slash sheet specifications, notices, etc., for that number.
  Example:
  By entering 38510, results retrieve standards such as MIL-M-38510J, plus all slash sheet specifications, notices, etc. In this example, MIL-M-38510/1F, QPL-38510-94, etc. are retrieved.

• You may enter an asterisk ( * ) wildcard at the beginning, middle, or end of a number.
  Example:
  By entering *123, results retrieve standards such as A-A-123C, NFPA 123, W-L-101/123B, etc.
  By entering 12*6, results retrieve AF R AFLC 127-6, DODD1215.6 (D), TSE TS EN 1297-6, etc.
  By entering 126*, results retrieve A-A-1266B, ISO 12639, SASO 1268, etc.

• Organization abbreviations are allowed in this field, but they are not necessary. For example, you can type ASTM, ASTM A 29, or A 29. Please note that the results will be different for each of these searches.

• Slashes and dashes within a number produce different results. For example, 25666/4 retrieves 2 results and 25666-4 retrieves 1.
